Philips has been deeply involved in Israel since 1948, right after the country’s establishment. The company now employs over 700 people in Israel and earned more than $300 million in revenue in 2007. They have major sites like Philips Medical Systems Technologies Ltd. in Haifa, which started as the Israeli company Elscint. Philips also bought the Israeli company Algotec Systems Ltd. in Raanana, now called Philips Algotec, which is part of Philips HCIS.
